Here is a closet space that my wife and I are considering turning into a second bath. Does anyone have enough experience with sort of thing to say my budget of a $1000 and doing it myself is realistic?

i think your biggest expenditure will be based on where the current plumbing is versus the placement of the closet. also the permits aren't cheap although you could outlaw it as long as you don't have nosy neighbors or care about getting busted by the city for retroactive fees if/when you ever sell the house. sorry to be such a Cassandra but it happens. under $1000? i'm going to guess no, but i still want to see you do it :)

I second that about the plumbing. Thats a huge consideration, as the toilet and sing not only need to drain, but vent as well. Adding a second or third bath on a house is a huge improvement, value wise, to your equity. Its worth permitting for the equity alone, but you will have to abide by building codes. Your ceiling height might be the real issue.

Have you considered just getting a wife? they LOVE closets ;-)
