This project shows a solution for hanging a custom valance in a kitchen nook. I am an interior designer and needed to come up with an answer for hanging a valance in an irregular shaped nook. I went out and chose drawer pulls as the answer for hanging the valance. The pulls had a back plate which I put against the wall but then I needed to create some extension before putting the knob on because there had to be room for the valance loop to hang on. The craft store proved useful when I found little tiny wood spools in the wood cutouts section. I painted the spools black and put that between the back plate and the knob. Of course, special long screws were needed which took a little hunting as well. Overall, the project turned out beautifully and almost all the expense was in the custom valance itself rather than the hardware. The result turned out beautifully and my client was very happy! The moral . . . never underestimate the power of drawer pulls.
